Dr Alex Veen

Chief Investigator

Dr Alex Veen is Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney Business School in the Discipline of Work and Organisational Studies and a Co-Director of the Sydney Employment Relations Research Group (SERRG). He is an employment relations scholar with an interest in the future of work, understanding how technology is shaping and resulting in new forms of work organisation. He has produced cutting-edge research on the app-based segment of the digitally enabled on-demand ‘gig’ economy.

Mr Rick Sullivan

PhD Candidate & Research Assistant

Rick is a PhD candiate at the University of Sydney Business School. As part of the DECRA project, he received a scholarship to pursue studies on algorithmic management. His doctoral project is entitled: ‘Caring with Algorithms: A Comparative Exploration of Work with Algorithmic Management in the Australian Home Care Sector’
